東京を拠点に、ジャンルや国境を横断するクラブミュージックを発信し続けてきたレーベル ＜TREKKIE TRAX＞より、フランス・モンペリエを拠点に活動するDJ／プロデューサー「Pura Pura (プラ プラ)」 の最新EP「Basement EP (ベースメント イーピー)」が2026年2月27日 (金)にリリースされる。
Pura Puraは、Jamie XX、Special Request、Om Unitといったアーティストにプレイされてきたエディット・パックをきっかけに国際的な注目を集めてきたアーティストであり、これまでに＜Juke Bounce Werk＞、＜EC2A＞、＜Global Warming＞などのレーベルから作品を発表してきた。HyasとのコラボレーションEP「Speakers」をはじめ、ジャンルやフォーマットにとらわれないリリースを重ね、Peacock Society、Solidays、Rex Clubといったイベントやクラブでもエネルギッシュかつ独創的なDJプレイで評価を高めている。
本作「Basement EP」は、OG MaxwellとのB2Bセットをきっかけに制作された作品であり、フットワークとダブステップをあえて“間違ったテンポ”でプレイしたそのセットで生まれた予想外のグルーヴと高揚感が強く印象に残り、その流れのまま本EPの制作がスタートした。
もともとジャンルを横断したミックスを得意とするPura Puraにとって、本作はそのスタンスを最もストレートに表現した作品となっている。USベース、フットワーク、ダブステップといった要素を軸に、全4曲を通してリズムとパーカッションを中心に構築。できる限りミニマルな構成を意識し、装飾を削ぎ落とすことで、グルーヴそのものが前面に立つサウンドを追求している。
本作には、TREKKIE TRAXからのリリースでも知られるプロデューサーデュオ 64controll によるリミックスも収録される。64controllは、JukeやFootworkをルーツに持ちながら、構築的かつ遊び心のあるサウンドデザインで国内外から注目を集める存在であり、クラブミュージックとしての機能性と独自の解釈を併せ持つリミックスを本作に提供している。
幅広い音楽スタイルを行き来してきたPura Puraならではの自由度の高い感覚は、本作においても健在であり、ジャンルの融合がコンセプトとしてではなく、自然な結果として立ち上がっている点が印象的だ。
本EPに収録された楽曲はいずれもクラブでのプレイを強く意識して制作されており、DJセットの中で鳴ることで完成する、実践的かつ身体性の高い作品に仕上がっている。

Tokyo-based label TREKKIE TRAX, known for continuously pushing club music beyond genre and national boundaries, has released the latest EP “Basement EP” by Montpellier, France–based DJ/producer Pura Pura on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Pura Pura first gained international recognition through his edit packs, which have been played by artists such as Jamie XX, Special Request, and Om Unit. He has released works on labels including Juke Bounce Werk, EC2A, and Global Warming. Alongside collaborative projects such as the EP “Speakers” with Hyas, he has continued to move freely across genres and formats, earning acclaim for his energetic and inventive DJ performances at events and venues such as Peacock Society, Solidays, and Rex Club.
“Basement EP” was born out of a B2B set with OG Maxwell. During that performance, Pura Pura deliberately played footwork and dubstep at what could be described as the “wrong tempo,” resulting in an unexpectedly powerful groove and sense of euphoria. That spontaneous energy directly inspired the creation of this EP.
Known for his cross-genre mixing approach, Pura Pura presents this EP as a clear and focused expression of his artistic identity. Across four tracks, he builds the project around rhythm and percussion, blending elements of US bass, footwork, and dubstep. By embracing a deliberately minimal structure and stripping away excess, the EP foregrounds groove as its central driving force.
The release also features a remix by 64controll, the producer duo known for their releases on TREKKIE TRAX. Rooted in Juke and Footwork while incorporating a constructive and playful approach to sound design, 64controll deliver a remix that combines strong dancefloor functionality with their own distinctive interpretation.
Pura Pura’s signature freedom in navigating diverse musical styles remains fully present throughout this EP. Rather than presenting genre fusion as a concept, the hybrid sound emerges naturally from his process. Each track is crafted with the club in mind, designed to come alive within DJ sets and to function as a physical, floor-oriented experience.
With its release on TREKKIE TRAX, “Basement EP” clearly marks Pura Pura’s current artistic direction while standing as a project built to be unleashed on the dancefloor.
