本作は、レーベルの中核プロデューサーユニット「TREKKIE TRAX CREW (トレッキー トラックス クルー)」 と、ニューヨークを拠点に世界的な評価を受けるプロデューサー「umru (ウムル)」、そして同じくニューヨークを拠点にドリーミーかつエモーショナルなエレクトロニック・サウンドで注目を集める 「nextdimensional (ネクストディメンショナル)」による国際的コラボレーション作品として発表されたオリジナル楽曲をベースに、新たな解釈を加えたリミックスパッケージであり、フィーチャリングにはラッパーの「なかむらみなみ」を迎えている。

TREKKIE TRAX CREWは、andrew、Carpainter、futatsuki、Seimeiによって構成され、2012年のレーベル設立以降、日本のクラブミュージックを世界に接続してきた存在だ。一方、umruはPC Music以降の流れを汲むハイパーポップ／エレクトロニック・ミュージックを代表するプロデューサーの一人として知られ、Charli XCXをはじめとする近年の重要なプロダクションワークを通じて、その鋭利かつエネルギッシュなサウンドデザインを世界的に印象づけてきた。nextdimensionalはNYアンダーグラウンドを背景に、グリッチやブレイク、レイヴ感覚を織り交ぜた独自の世界観を構築するアーティストである。そこに加わる、なかむらみなみの存在感あるリリックとヴォーカルが、原曲に強い推進力を与えている。

「Open! feat. なかむらみなみ (オープン フィート ナカムラミナミ)」 は、umruとnextdimensionalが来日した際に行われたセッションを起点として制作された楽曲。制作期間中、メンバー全員で昼間に公園を訪れたひとときが大きなインスピレーションとなり、その空気感の中からなかむらみなみがリリックを書き上げていったという、極めてフィジカルで自然発生的なプロセスを経ており、楽曲は制作初期段階からDJセットで何度もプレイされ、その都度フロアのリアクションを確かめながら構成や展開を調整。クラブでの実践を通して磨き上げられてきた。

本リミックスでは、その実践的に構築されたエネルギーを軸に、異なるクラブコンテクストへと拡張が試みられている。

リミックスには、それぞれ異なるアプローチを持つ3組が参加。Fellsius（フェルシウス）はインダストリアルな質感を帯びたテクノアプローチによって原曲を再構築し、無機質で重厚なサウンドへと昇華。Miss Jay (ミス ジェイ) はエレクトロを軸にボルチモア／ジャージークラブの影響を感じさせるビートで再解釈し、跳ねるグルーヴと大胆な展開で新たな身体性を付与している。Masayoshi Iimori (マサヨシ イイモリ) はトラップとガバを横断するハイブリッドなアプローチにより、高速かつ攻撃的なピークタイム仕様へと拡張。それぞれのリミックスが異なるフロアへと接続される構成となっている。

サウンド面では、各リミックスがそれぞれ異なる強度と方向性を持ちながらも、原曲に宿っていた攻撃性とエネルギーを核として共有しており、単なる再構築にとどまらず、「Open!」という楽曲の持つ可能性を多面的に提示する内容となっている。

This release is a remix package that reinterprets the original international collaboration track created by the label’s core producer unit, TREKKIE TRAX CREW, alongside globally acclaimed New York-based producer umru and fellow New York-based artist nextdimensional, who has been gaining attention for their dreamy and emotional electronic sound. The track also features rapper Nakamura Minami.

TREKKIE TRAX CREW consists of andrew, Carpainter, futatsuki, and Seimei, and since the label’s founding in 2012, they have played a key role in connecting Japanese club music to the global scene. Meanwhile, umru is widely recognized as one of the defining producers of the post-PC Music era of hyperpop and electronic music, leaving a global impact through sharp and energetic sound design in major productions including works with Charli XCX. nextdimensional, rooted in the New York underground, constructs a unique sonic world that blends glitch, breaks, and rave sensibilities. Added to this is the powerful lyrical presence and vocal performance of Nakamura Minami, which gives the original track its intense forward momentum.

“Open! feat. Nakamura Minami” was created from a session that took place during umru and nextdimensional’s visit to Japan. During the production process, a daytime visit to a park by all the members became a major source of inspiration, with Nakamura Minami writing the lyrics directly from the atmosphere of that moment. The track emerged through an extremely physical and spontaneous creative process. From its early stages, the song was repeatedly tested in DJ sets, with its structure and arrangement continuously refined in response to reactions on the dancefloor, ultimately being shaped through real club practice.

This remix release expands upon that practically constructed energy and pushes it into different club contexts.

Three artists, each with distinct approaches, contributed remixes to the package. Fellsius reconstructs the original through an industrial-textured techno approach, transforming it into a cold and heavy soundscape. Miss Jay reinterprets the track through electro infused with Baltimore and Jersey Club influences, adding bouncing grooves and bold transitions that create a new sense of physicality. Masayoshi Iimori takes a hybrid approach that crosses trap and gabber, expanding the track into a fast and aggressive peak-time weapon. Each remix connects the original work to a different kind of dancefloor experience.

Sonically, while each remix carries its own unique intensity and direction, they all share the aggression and energy embedded in the original track as a common core. Rather than functioning as simple reconstructions, these remixes collectively present the many possibilities contained within “Open!”.
