Native Rapper’s latest work, You Are Into Dance Music, is a record built around the theme of the space between the real and the virtual — inside an artist who has become possessed by the music that reaches him wherever he is, whether in the club, at home, or out in nature.

While drawing on influences from botanica and bass music, it is a collection composed around the brass, strings, and piano that Native Rapper himself loves.

The title track “You Are Into Dance Music” is a dance number whose insistent refrain rings out across all kinds of scenes — a song that fuses Native Rapper’s signature brass, uplifting instrumentals, and distinctive lyrics.

The second track “Turning Point” centers its melody on an iconic synth sound while featuring a vocal arrangement that carries a post-hyperpop sensibility. RAKURA, who is produced by Native Rapper, joins on backing vocals.
