JIALINGは台湾系アメリカ人のプロデューサーであり、アメリカ・ボルチモア出身。15年間にわたりクラシックチェロ奏者として研鑽を積んだ後、ビジュアルアートやサウンドアートの領域での表現を経て、現在は自身の美学をダンスミュージックに昇華させるアーティストとして活動している。クラシックの構造的思考とアートに裏打ちされた感性を兼ね備えた彼女の楽曲は、現代クラブミュージックにおいて極めてユニークな存在感を放っている。

その音楽的評価は世界的にも高く、2024年には権威あるダンスミュージック誌「Mixmag」が選出する2024年を定義づけたプロデューサー25人におくられる「The Top 25 Producers Who Defined the Year 2024」に選ばれたほか、＜Sorry Records＞、＜Clasico Records＞、＜Local Action＞など、世界各国の最前線レーベルからも次々に作品を発表。アメリカ全土はもちろん、アジア諸国を含む世界各地でDJパフォーマンスを行うなど、まさにワールドワイドな活躍を見せている。
TREKKIE TRAXとの関係も深く、2025年にはレーベル主宰者のSeimeiとのコラボ曲「Seimei & JIALING – In the Air」をリリースし、国内外のクラブプレイを通して大きな注目を集めた。また、2024年4月にはTREKKIE TRAXの招聘により初来日を果たし、日本ツアーも大成功を収めている。

今回リリースされたEP「frost」は、全2曲で構成されたコンパクトながら強度の高い作品集であり、JIALINGの持ち味であるジャンル横断的なプロダクションが全開となっている。1曲目の「ascend（アセンド）」では、ブレイクビーツを基調に、東洋的な旋律美が繊細に織り込まれ、浮遊感と緊張感が同居するような仕上がりに。クラシカルな素養が生み出す旋律構成と、現代的なリズムデザインが見事に融合している。2曲目「descend（ディセンド）」では、彼女の出身地であるボルチモアのローカルダンスミュージック「Bmore（ビーモア）」のエッセンスを軸に据えながらも、アシッドやブレイクスといった複数の要素が交錯し、よりディープで疾走感のある楽曲に仕上がっている。昇りと降りというコンセプトを対照的な楽曲構成で表現した本作は、EPとしての物語性にも富んでおり、聴く者を短時間で濃密な音の旅へと誘う。

JIALING is a Taiwanese-American producer based in the United States, originally from Baltimore. After spending 15 years rigorously studying classical cello, she transitioned into visual and sound art, eventually evolving into an artist who channels her personal aesthetics through dance music. Her work, grounded in the structural thinking of classical music and informed by a refined artistic sensibility, brings a truly unique presence to the landscape of contemporary club music.

Her artistry has garnered international acclaim. In 2024, she was selected by the influential dance music magazine Mixmag as one of “The Top 25 Producers Who Defined the Year 2024.” In addition, she has released music on a number of cutting-edge labels around the globe, including Sorry Records, Clasico Records, and Local Action. With performances across the United States, Asia, and beyond, her global footprint continues to expand, further solidifying her reputation as a truly world-class artist.

JIALING also maintains a close relationship with Japan’s TREKKIE TRAX. In 2025, she collaborated with label co-founder Seimei on the single “Seimei & JIALING – In the Air,” which gained significant traction both domestically and internationally through club plays. In April 2024, she embarked on her first Japan tour, organized by TREKKIE TRAX, which was met with great success.

Her newly released EP, frost, comprises two tracks that, while compact in form, deliver a high degree of impact and cohesion. The EP showcases her signature genre-blending approach in full force. The first track, “ascend,” is built on breakbeats layered with delicate, Eastern-inspired melodies, balancing ethereal atmosphere with subtle tension. The classical influence is evident in the melodic construction, while the rhythm programming reflects a highly modern sensibility.

The second track, “descend,” draws upon the spirit of Bmore—the distinct club sound of her hometown Baltimore—while weaving in elements of acid and breaks.
