そんなDubGuyの最新作「Phase Ritual EP」は、トライバルなリズムとマトリックスのようなデジタル空間を重ね合わせた世界観をイメージして制作された一枚。
本作は「Phase Ritual (フェイズ リチュアル)」と「Rupture (ラプチャー)」の2曲で1つの作品を成す構成となっており、LFOやPortalを駆使したサウンドデザインが全編に散りばめられている。原始的な儀式を思わせるトライバルなグルーヴと、電脳空間のような無機質なデジタルの質感が交差し、2曲を通して1つの世界観を描き出す作品集となっている。
また、2014年よりダブステップを軸に制作を始め、＜Livity Sound＞や＜Deep, Dark & Dangerous＞などから作品を発表し、Ben UFOやPeverelistらからサポートを受ける日本のプロデューサー「Dayzero (デイゼロ)」による「Phase Ritual (Dayzero Remix) (フェイズ リチュアル デイゼロ リミックス)」と、ロンドンを拠点とし、イギリスのラジオ局「Rinse FM」でマンスリーショーを持ち、＜TraTraTrax＞や＜Rinse＞などから作品を発表するデュオ「Dual Monitor (デュアル モニター)」による「Rupture (Dual Monitor Remix) (ラプチャー デュアル モニター リミックス)」も収録している。

His latest work, “Phase Ritual EP,” was created around a world that layers tribal rhythms over a Matrix-like digital space.
The EP is built as a single work made of two tracks, “Phase Ritual” and “Rupture,” with sound design driven by LFOs and Portal running throughout. Tribal grooves that recall an ancient ritual meet the cold, inorganic texture of a digital realm, and across the two tracks they draw out one unified world.
The EP also features “Phase Ritual (Dayzero Remix)” by Dayzero, a Japanese producer who began producing with a focus on dubstep in 2014, has released on labels such as Livity Sound and Deep, Dark & Dangerous, and has received support from Ben UFO and Peverelist. It also includes “Rupture (Dual Monitor Remix)” by Dual Monitor, a London-based duo who host a monthly show on Rinse FM and have released on labels such as TraTraTrax and Rinse.
